50 Shades of Gray Paint

I burst through the door one day after work, blabbering about how I’d had a “vision” of a house paint color that “You can’t tell if it’s brown or gray! You don’t know if it’s green! IT’S ALL OF THOSE THINGS!” and for some reason, my husband got on board my crazy train and rode it all the way to our destination of Cuckoosville.

We really hated the color of the house when we moved in. Well, we didn’t hate the color- we just hated it on THIS house. A creamy, pale yellow didn’t suit the Jetsons vibe the “architecture” is throwing down and it didn’t blend in with the somewhat wooded surroundings. But worst of all? It was really hard to pick flowers to match it.

I’m not kidding, we just painted our house so that I could more easily choose and plant flowers.

The color we finally decided on, after trying about 50 tester cans on the back of the house (it looked like a very goth quilt), is perfect for any color flower. This rad color looks brown in the morning, indescribable during the day and gray at night. Only I could get this excited about a color this nondescript!
When it was pale yellow, I felt like I was limited to purple, white, yellow and chocolately hues. I couldn’t even pick pots out without getting the sweats, green? Brown? Now I’m going for the gusto with neon oranges, reds and bold golds. I'm even going to dip my toe into the wild word of CORAL!  I’ve bought new charcoal gray pots and giant leaf green ones, both colors looks phenomenal! The white trim on the house looks even whiter now--and I have the foggy idea that a boisterous all-white garden would be a show stopper, but I cannot restrain myself. I lack the flower will power!

See what a difference paint can make.
