The Low Down on Proven Winners Outdoor Living Extravaganza

It is hard for me to believe, but it was almost a year ago that I was invited by my online garden friend, Brenda Haas, to attend the Proven Winners Outdoor Living Extravaganza in Atlanta. So, when I read about this year’s Extravaganza lineup in the current issue of Proven Beauty, I found myself a little nostalgic.
It was a special event in many ways. I met and learned from some remarkable garden personalities like Proven Winners’ witty and knowledgeable Director of New Products, Dr. Rick Schoellhorn and Associate Garden Editor for Southern Living Magazine, Rebecca Bull Reed. I also met Georgia’s own delightful garden diva, Carmen Johnston of Nectar and Company and enjoyed chatting with my online friend and talented garden illustrator, Steve Asbell. And I can’t forget Atlanta’s delightful and friendly garden expert, Geri Laufer. It was so much fun to put faces to names and personalities that I “met” on Twitter and Facebook!
In addition to meeting some of my favorite gardening people, I was introduced to wonderful additions for my garden, like Supertunia® Pretty Much Picasso® and Diamond Frost® Euphorbia, which added charm to our containers last spring and summer. I also previewed new introductions for 2012. There were so many exciting new plants! Personally, I can’t wait for the new ColorBlaze® Alligator Tears™ Coleus to arrive in stores near me.
I also really enjoyed learning about all of the effort that Proven Winners puts forth to make our gardens beautiful, easy and dependable. For example, did you know that the development of a Proven Winners plant is a worldwide effort, involving plant breeders, growers, testers, and trials? I discovered that out of 3,000 potential plants grown and tested in a year, only 18 are selected to be Proven Winners. There are very good reasons why Proven Winners is the number one plant brand in the country!
The Proven Winners Outdoor Living Extravaganzas are scheduled throughout North America each spring. They feature national gardening personalities and local gardening names, each offering their own special tips and techniques about how to make your garden better. If you live near a chosen city this year, I highly encourage you to take a day for yourself and your garden to attend this wonderful event. The people at Proven Winners are truly amazing and I'm enjoying reading your post on their new blog. The Outdoor Extravaganza in Toronto Canada last year was amazing. I had a fabulous time seeing some of the Proven Winner Gang as well as meeting some new Canadian gardening friends who have since joined us on #gardenchat to share from time to time.

You're absolutely right! They are a whole lot of fun!
I had a great time last year at the Outdoor Living Extravaganza in Seattle! It was a bit of a drive, but so worth it! We lunched at the gorgeous Golf Club at Newcastle, learned about some hot plants, and upcoming releases, and enjoyed some great garden presentations. I learned a lot, and met some really amazing people on that trip! Fingers crossed they'll be back in my area next year. Vancouver's beautiful in the spring! :)

Proven Winners is a class act, and they really pull out all the stops for the Outdoor Living Extravaganza events. I don't know another plant brand that devotes so much time and effort to offering such a great event for gardeners. It's a lot of fun and educational as well. I don't hesitate to recommend it to gardeners, because I know how much they will enjoy it.
