My Favorite Garden Center to Shop for Proven Winners

I love garden stores. From roadside stands to barns and greenhouses packed full of plants that tickle my fancy, I love them all! Discovering a new plant shop brings out the geek in me. Like a kid in a candy store, I’m in bliss. I grab a cart and try to temper my enthusiasm. Living in BC presents a terrific problem; there are just so many great nurseries.

What makes a garden center really special is when it’s equipped with knowledgeable and friendly staff. They help us enhance our skills as gardeners, keeping us up-to-date on the latest in planting trends and hot new plants. They offer year round workshops and take pride in helping us make sure our gardens always look fantastic! To get all that and more, I go to Amsterdam Greenhouses & Garden Center in Pitt Meadows.

Not only do they have a fantastic selection of perennials and native plants, but their 12,000 square foot production greenhouse bursts with colorful Proven Winners blooms all spring and summer. My spring is not complete without a visit through their extensive rows of bold and beautiful summer annuals. Every color of the rainbow is represented; they practically throw themselves into my cart! There’s no trouble finding great performers like Superbells^® Tequila Sunrise  or Superbells^® Coralberry Punch. They have a wide variety of foliage plants to spice up your summer planters too like Illusion^® Midnight Lace or 'Sweet Caroline Sweetheart Red'. And each Proven Winners tag gives simple to understand plant information. Spectacular containers and beds were never this easy!
