Jeff Huntington Named President of NENA

Jeff Huntington, co-owner of Pleasant View Gardens in Loudon, New Hampshire, was recently named president of the New England Nursery Association (NENA), a regional trade association representing nursery stock growers, landscape professionals, garden center operators, horticultural distributors, and allied suppliers. Mr. Huntington was first elected as the New Hampshire Representative to the board of NENA in 1983 and previously was voted as NENA Treasurer. Huntington has also worked on the State Association Leadership, New England Nursery and Landscape Certification Council, and is the chair of the Summer Expo 2003 committee, all within NENA.

In addition to his activities with NENA, Huntington also participates in the New Hampshire Plant Growers Association (NHPGA) and the American Nursery and Landscape Association (ANLA) where he helped bring the annual national convention to Boston for 2003. He has also been instrumental in serving as a liaison between the NHPGA and the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension Service.

NENA has over 300 member companies, and it co-sponsors New England Grows every year in February, that is attended by growers from New England and beyond. NENA is dedicated to enhancing the New England nursery industry through education of its members, support of state and national activities, and increased awareness of the value of nursery products and services.

Huntington earned an Associates Degree from the University of New Hampshire, Thompson School of Applied Sciences in 1976. Jeff and his family are heavily involved in the day to day activities of running the family's greenhouse business, Pleasant View Gardens. Pleasant View Gardens is a producer of Proven Winners and Proven Selections young plants, as well as a supplier of finished plants. Jeff and his family live and work in Loudon, New Hampshire.
