Proven Winners brings a new vegetative line of Ageratum. These strong performing Ageratums have a great growth habit that produces mounds of soft blue or deep violet-purple flowers. Artist™ 'Blue' & Artist™ 'Purple' will work extremely well in containers, mixed baskets and in the landscape. These vegetative Ageratums are more uniform and flower more consistently than seed grown varieties. They are weather-resistant and thrive in bright full sun. Deer-resistant.

Growing Tips

Deadheading not necessary for continuous bloom. Plants will "bury their dead" (new flowers will quickly cover old flowers) so no deadheading necessary. Most other Ageratum will need deadheading.

Unlike most Ageratum the Artist series will bloom through the summer in hot climates. The Dallas Arboretum has used Artist ageratum for years in very prominent locations with great success. They are good in pots or in the landscape. Old flowers should quickly become buried under new flowers so the plant always looks fresh and never looks old. The plants shouldn't need much, if any, maintenance. However, if the plants do become ratty or start to overgrow their location you can trim that back at any time. They will flush back into bloom in a week or so.

An application of fertilizer or compost on garden beds and regular fertilization of plants in pots will help ensure the best possible performance.

...they really out performed any ageratum that I have grown in the past. They never needed deadheading as they grew vigorously enough to grow beyond the spent flowers. Their growth was even and tight which made for a perfect plant for masses and borders.
