Professional Growing Information 
I have 4 pinky winkies and 2 of them bloom great, the other 2 are loaded with panicals but they never fully form the little flowers. I would say 75% are just the little round balls that never develop. The locations are all very similar, the only difference is that 2 are next to each other (the 2 that bloom great) and the other 2 are on their own. Is that the problem? Do I need to adjust something?

Pinky Winky has an unusual name, and an even more unusual flower. The large white panicles open in mid to late summer, and as summer turns to fall the florets at the base of the panicles turn pink. The flower panicles continue to grow, producing new white florets at the tip. The result is spectacular two-toned flower panicles that can reach up to 16 inches in length! This is a real show-stopper that's also very easy to grow. Adaptable to most soils and both sun and shade, Pinky Winky will thrive in most gardens.

I ordered this plant from proven winners along with other 10 plants over month and a half and the plant won’t grow past the point i received it on. I water them daily. I also had a second package that was delivered to me but was not found when I got home. I called proven winners and they wouldn’t assist me with that anymore, said it was a matter for the police now. I’m a little too disappointed to have ordered over $300 in plants and I can’t even tell they made a difference in my garden. I was so looking forward to my garden but this has made me so disappointed. Don’t buy online, I recommend going to a nursery and picking out healthy plants on your own.

I planted mine 5 years ago and never have I been more pleased with a plant! It's approx 8x8 ft, planted in rather shallow soil over limestone in my zone 6b backyard where it gets intermittent full to part sun. I keep several inches of hardwood mulch on my beds, and water all of my hydrangeas during dry spells. It still stops me in my tracks at times with it's overall shape and breath-taking, huge, beautiful blooms. Wow!!!

I have grown this plant for 7 years. The pannicles and the shrub are much fuller than the proven winner picture. It has been absolutely magnificent and also makes a long lasting cut flower. We have nice loamy soil in full sun. I rarely fertilize it. The key is to cut off all the dead pannicles early spring mid to late April, early May at the latest. Cut about an inch in front of the next leaf bud. It reached full size in 4 years. Fast Grower. I live in North Dakota so I would guess most folks would be able to grow.

I found this to be a poor bloomer. Had many panicles on the scrub but very sporadic flowers. Lots of space between each bloom. Look stragely and blooms.are dry and stiff. Gets the right amount of sun and water. Many others I've seen in my area look similar.

This was one of my favorites that always drew compliments. I found it easy to grow and within a few seasons it was a substantial shrub. I trimmed it up to expose the trunk. I plan to purchase several more to create more of a hedge. Zone 5B. Planted in decent soil, full sun

Purchased the Pinky Winky seven years ago and it has never gotten bigger than 1' in height with only one year producing a flower. The first few years it was planted in a full sun location and last year I moved it in a location that allows a couple of hours of shade. It isn't doing any better than before. It seems happy where it is but just won't grow. I have tried giving it bone meal, fertilizer, and water it regularly but somehow I think it is a dudd. I would love one that actually grows normal, but am gunshy in purchasing another one for fear the same thing happens. My husband keeps saying "get rid of it", but I keep hoping some day it will grow.

I'm pretty sure that "MK, Washington" with the three star review down there was me. I can't believe I felt that way only 4 years ago! The time must be wrong. I trained it into a tree shape and it was a love affair ever after. I did place it badly - it hung out over the driveway and the it and its constant supply of bees were a bit of a hazard, but I loved it. I couldn't wait for it to bloom. It really gave character and structure to the entire yard. Then it died suddenly winter before last for no obvious reason. I'm here today to replace it, so yes, I'd recommend it. Ignore that other me.

You can't find a better flowering shrub. Easy to maintain with amazing blooms. It does best when trimmed back to create strong stems. I have several from full sun and some in shady spots. I have neighbours come to my door and ask what the are. I see people drive by to take pictures. They will be the centre piece of any yard.
