Professional Growing Information I planted three Snow Princess alyssum plants plus one Cake Pops pink verbena in each of my 16" hanging pots in full sun. The verbenas were a mistake; they were soon overpowered by the alyssum and eventually disappeared. I fertilized every week. The alyssums grew rapidly and soon were tumbling over the sides of the pots. I did minor trimming twice to shape them and eventually got big balls of fluffy white. They definitely do need their water- during the hot weather I watered twice a day. It's the end of September now and they still look great. I also like their pleasant smell. I will definitely plant these again.

Snow Princess is cold tolerant and heat tolerant, she bloomed through the summer at the Dallas Arboretum and the University of Georgia trial garden. She is very vigorous so pair her with other vigorous.
Snow Princess is a "heavy drinker" and will prefer evenly moist soil. It will be quick to show drought stress, but should bounce back quickly once re-hydrated. In a hanging basket you should be prepared to water often, maybe more than once a day during warm weather. Plants are easier to keep moist when planted in large planters. Due to her water needs Snow Princess is ideal for use in larger planters. In containers an application of continuous release fertilizer at planting is best. To help maximize performance use applications of a well-balanced water-soluble fertilizer (according to package directions) starting in mid-summer.
Snow Princess will also perform well in the landscape where she will function as an annual, full sun, groundcover.
While plants shouldn't need to be trimmed back, if she is taking over your walkway or is looking less than her best a trim can be administered at anytime. Use a sharp pair of scissors or pruning shears as needed.
A yearly application of fertilizer or compost on garden beds and regular fertilization of plants in pots will help ensure the best possible performance.
If there's one new plant that should be on everyone's list, it's Snow Princess, a unique breakthrough in the genus for heat tolerance and extended season performance. This sterile Lobularia is extremely vigorous, and because it puts no energy into setting seed it has an incredibly long bloom time. Creates a great hanging basket or window box and is a perfect filler in combinations.

I have been growing sweet alyssum for more than 2 decades in the Deep South; Snow Princess is the only variety that blooms through the summer and doesn’t quit once it gets blisteringly hot. It is one of the few plants I make a point of buying by mail order and paying for shipping since my local shops always get other, inferior varieties. Snow Princess is the only choice for hot locations. Absolutely a phenomenal step forward. Thank you for developing it!

I LOVE this Snow Princess! New pandemic gardener and first time trying this Snow Princess plant late last summer and it has only gotten bigger and better over our fall/winter. It’s gorgeous! Very fragrant and smells like honey. I have it lining some extra large pots and it has just pillowed and trailed out so beautifully! Easy to care for - likes a lot of water, and I will start feeding it again soon. Didn’t think it would over winter but I’m so glad it has - it’s just so lovely. Love love love it!

I had seen a variety of Alyssum growing in a brick planter at our local library, every time I walked by I had to stop and enjoy the wonderful fragrance. The smell reminded me of honey, I knew I needed some variety of this plant in my garden. Three seasons ago I found 4” pots of Proven Winners “Snow Princess” at a local nursery and took one home. Not knowing the necessity of full sun for this plant I put it in a hanging basket with only a few hours of morning sun and dappled shade the rest of the time. Over the course of the summer I had a beautiful green full hanging basket but hardly any blooms. Not to be deterred I purchased another 4” pot in the second season, put it in the full sun this time and enjoyed blooms and fragrance for the full season. Third season (2021) I purchased another 4” pot, went to plant it in the same planter as before and noticed the plant from season 2 was scraggly but blooming. Even though Snow Princess is an annual it had lived through our 2020-2021 zone 8b winter. I cut it back, watered and fertilized it and the second year plant produced a marvelous showing of bloom and fragrance. It is now the end of November, 2021 and the Snow Princess is still producing. Next season I plan to introduce it into my landscape. I highly recommend Proven Winners “Snow Princess”.

This plant was a real stand out in my garden last summer. I purchased 5 plants in the spring and thought initially they looked so tiny in their pots. Once they got going though they did not quit! From a small plant in a 4" pot to glorious cascading never ending blooms. I had a number of people walking by ask me what they were and have started to receive messages from friends this spring asking what it was so that they can get some this year. The only problem I encountered was a a mid season infestation of spider mites, but luckily one good treatment with insecticidal soap and they were back to blooming. I'll definitely be planting this again. Hopefully my friends will leave some at the garden centre for me lol.

Fabulous plant! Bloomed all winter and spring and is still blooming at the end of summer despite our hot (many weeks around or over 100F) and dry weather. I have it planted where it does receive irrigation from drip lines and no overhead watering. I also have it in a container in full sun where it is still green and alive, but has stopped blooming - probably due to the heat and a more stressful environment. I suspect it will start blooming again once it gets a bit cooler. This beats regular alyssum by far!
