Jessica is an avid gardener that has spent her entire life in the horticulture industry. Growing up in a small garden center in Northern Michigan, she fast learned the value of hard work and in the process, was bitten by the plant bug! Passionate about people and plants, Jessica is an industry veteran with prior work in sales and marketing for Benary Seed Company, C. Raker and Sons, and Walters Gardens. She holds a master’s degree in horticulture from Michigan State University. In her new role at Proven Winners, Jessica will specifically focus on the needs of independent garden centers, creating partnerships and building innovative programs to support this vital segment of our industry.

Jack is an award winning garden designer, Author, and owner of C3 Gardens of Southwest Florida as well as Barnwell Landscape and Garden based on the small Northern Michigan island of Mackinac. Jack has over twenty years of experience creating breathtaking commercial and private garden displays on one of the world’s premier summer vacation destinations. His newest venture with Partner, Tom Smith is already gaining recognition as one of the most exciting new companies in the Naples/Marco Island area of Florida.
His plantings received top honors at the Cincinnati Flower Show, taking home an award for Best in Show. Jack’s work has been featured in many publications, including Landscape Management Magazine. As a consultant for Proven Winners, Jack contributes to the design of beautiful gardens at prestigious commercial properties all over the United States.
Jack’s first book, An Introduction to the Gardens of Mackinac Island, was published in the spring of 2013. He is currently working on his second book, Container Garden Recipes for Porch, Pool, and Patio. This second book will read like a cookbook and include many of his favorite designs.
At the end of a long day, Jack, his wife Karen, and their new son Reed enjoy watching the sun set, no matter which island they are on at the time.

As a longstanding nurseryman, Tim career has included extensive work in public horticulture involving stints at Longwood Gardens, the Arnold Arboretum, the Chicago Botanic Garden, and other public gardens. He has taught horticulture courses at public and state universities, has published numerous articles and photos in most major nursery and gardening magazines, is the co-author of three books, and is an avid lecturer.
As the Product Development Manager for Spring Meadow Nursery in Grand Haven, Michigan, Wood travels the world searching for promising new woody ornamentals worthy of introduction. Since he is an active breeder with over 30 plant patents to his own name, he has a keen eye of what to look for in new plants. A few of his favorite shrubs are Summer Wine® Ninebark, Bloomerang® Lilac, and Incrediball® Hydrangea. Wood holds a BS and MS in Horticulture from Michigan State University and was named Michigan Grower of the Year in 2001.
