Planted this darling three weeks ago from a 4" pot. It took the transplanting very well and has grown by about 2 inches. The folowers are lovely and the habit is tidy. Once it reaches it's full height, we'll see if it is a keeper. I've had a lot of luck with Proven Winners hybrids. Garden blog at kinziebalfour.com.
Barely Boysenberry™ Cape Mallow Anisodontea hybrid
- Hardy Zones
- 9 - 11
- Mature Size
- 36 - 48 Inches
Great in landscapes and containers
Self cleaning, no deadheading necessary.
Cape Mallow is native to South Africa and prefers somewhat cooler temperatures. It will suffer when it is hot and humid. This is especially true when night temperatures begin staying in the 70's or higher. Hibiscus mutabilis and Malvaviscus arboreus are better for hot and humid areas.
