Prune hard to 18" in late winter, and fertilize. This variety blooms on new wood, and so should be pruned in late winter. Leave at least two pairs of buds on each stem.

I watch Garden Answer with Laura every day and how she promotes Proven Winners. When she unpacks a shipment, they come out so beautiful, so I decided to order two clematis. I was very disappointed when I unpacked them! They were very puny and one of them was jarred loose from the pot and did not survive! The other one is barley holding on! The clematis I purchased at our local garden center were much larger for the same price, They were well supported with stakes to protect them. I feel I just threw my money away!Van, Kansas, United States, 48 weeks ago

Best Clematis ever! Gets better every year!Debbie, Canada, 2 years ago
I got this for my little sister, for her birthday. Today, 7/9/20, is the one year anniversary. It is about 8 1/2' tall. Just starting to bloom. And the blooms are beautiful. I am very glad that I bought her the one gallon size. Buying that size is like getting 8-10 years worth of growth, in one year. Her deck sits up about 4' from ground level, so I knew I needed a plant 10'+. I put in 4x4x8 foot with trellis on top of the deck. It has made the 4' (deck height) and the hand rail (36") now we can see a good bit of the plant with blooms. Very Pretty! YES, I would buy this, again. In fact, I am going to buy one for ME! lol....BRUCE PARKS, Ohio, United States, 2 years ago
