    • the coreopsis genus as a whole is pretty easy-going, but my two early sunrise plants are way tougher than i expected -- last year they handled georgia's meteorological mood swings without breaking a sweat as long as i watered them every other day during dry spells. they're certified deer and rabbit resistant, too. pollinators, on the other hand, are quite happy to snack from the flowers. bumblebees, honeybees, butterflies, moths, and other such insects were regular visitors all throughout blooming season, and since early sunrise puts out a lot of blooms in full sun conditions*, there's enough to go around. (*it can tolerate part sun, but there won't be nearly as many flowers, the plant will become etiolated, and slugs and snails will come out in droves to eat the leaves every time it rains)
