    Features

Need more plants that can tolerate extreme heat and drought? Try the Mojave® series of Portulaca. With large, vividly colored flowers that pollinators adore, they bloom non-stop from spring until frost. Mojave® Tangerine shines with large, saturated orange blossoms that don’t fade in the heat and attract pollinating bees and butterflies. Like others in the series, they are self-cleaning so they won’t need to be deadheaded to keep on blooming all season.

The flowers of Portulaca will close at night and reopen the next day.  They will tolerate dry soils, although they will perform optimally with average moisture.  These are tough plants that will tolerate poor soils and do not need a lot of fertilizer to perform well.  Deadheading is not needed.
