    Features

An awesome plant for northern landscapes: a gold-leaf version of 'Tor'! Buds with hints of red in them open to white spring flowers. Sunny yellow foliage holds its color well, and the full, compact habit is very attractive. Also, it doesn't burn in the summer and has great fall color. If you're looking for a colorful, hardy plant that will look great all season, this is the variety for you! This extremely hardy and colorful plant is native to North America.

    • I’ve had the same problems as chuck! It’s a gorgeous shrub til midsummer then…… Maybe someone can offer advice for my finicky spirea glow girl. Too much water? Help!

    • Every year the shrub gets some kind of fungus and defoliates in mid summer. Tried every treatment with no luck

    • I cannot recommend these shrubs enough. My mom was tired of the maintenance her very LARGE nepeta were requiring (never been divided, planted around 8 years ago, constantly flowering, flopping, and looking weedy) so last fall i dug them out and replaced all three with these spirea. The fall color was incredible and they came back beautifully this spring. They are planted on the south side of her home in full sun for 8+ hours daily in the summer. Lots of radiant heat, on a slope, but have heavily amended clay soil. If you are looking for a way to add color to your landscape— I also planted a mass of paint the town magenta dianthus, cats pajamas nepeta, and there is some sort of upright tree and 3 PW crape myrtle in the back bed as well. It is an incredible combination and you can see it all the way from the road. Can’t recommend these enough. Their blooms are beautiful and most importantly she LOVES them. I can’t wait to make room for them in my own landscape this year. Bloomed early May in zone 6A.

    • This is the most beautiful shrub. Last year, when I purchased it online and during Covid

    • Cannot day enough about this shrub. It is a real standout in the mixed border! We had a tough winter and zero dieback Does well in our hot summers also. Hardiness aside, it’s a lovely plant. Beautiful shape and the color is a real standout — better than any other gold spirea I’ve had. I can’t recommend this plant enough. Truly a star that requires no fussing and a big payoff.
