Grab a "Slice" of Spring Fever!

It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so! ~Mark Twain

Spring is hands down the favorite season of many gardeners, and definitely the most anticipated. There is a sense of longing to get out and prepare the garden, sow seeds, fertilize fruit trees and shrubs, prune and divide perennials. At the end of the day, weary from their efforts, gardeners feverishly dream about new plants and paths, perhaps a new water feature or a firepit. We've got the fever!

This spring, I am looking forward to putting together new containers for our gazebo area, and Proven Winners has some fabulous flower introductions that are sure to help me make them gorgeous. One of my favorite selections this year is Superbells® Lemon Slice Calibrachoa. With its unique yellow and white stripes, Lemon Slice reminds me of beach parasols fluttering in the breeze.

One of the cool things about a bi-colored flower is that you can use it as the foundation of your color scheme, just like you use a favorite piece of fabric as inspiration to decorate a room. With pretty Lemon Slice, you can pull out the white with Superbells® White Calibrachoa and add sparkle and texture with dependable Diamond Frost® Euphorbia. Or you can go hot and tropical by combining Lemon Slice with Luscious® Berry Blend Lantana. It's like a fiesta! I think Lemon Slice would also be stunning as part of a classic blue and yellow combo.  How about adding frothy Snow Princess® Lobularia and Laguna Lobelia? The possibilities are endless!
