I was creating a small pollinator garden this year in NJ, but didn’t start until a new patio was installed (July 2020). It fared well, but recently (early September 2020) it took off. It’s tripled in size. The blooms are a great color and it is definitely a favorite of the pollinators, only second to my orange milkweed. While I haven’t seen any hummingbirds, it attracts hummingbird moths, which I never saw before.

I bought one this spring, and it grew well and has been blooming for a long time, attracting hundreds of insects. I planted it in our wet clay, but on an incline so it has better drainage and it seems to love the spot. Summer came and a bit of drought but it never wilted or turned brown- its as pretty today as it was last month. Very easy care, unfussy plant. Haven't been through a winter with it, thought, but I am sure it'll be fine. Good size, no need to deadhead, very pleased.

I ordered two and Proven Winners sent them late April. I immediately planted both per their instructions (gravel at the bottom, sunny/well-draining soil spot) and the plants grew fast, big and strong, blooming non-stop, still. I did/do deadhead and prune every few weeks and the plant responds with new shoots and flowers. The bees love it, as do the hummingbirds. I planted other 3 other, different agastache hybrids, (and 1 native giant hyssop - which has been thriving) and the blue boa has the most vigor of the five, and is the most preferred by the bees and hummingbirds.
