I don't know why Japanese anemones are not a more popular plant for most gardens. This variety is extremely hardy, blooms prolifically, and does not spread readily . How delightful it has been for the last two late Summer-early Fall seasons to have them bridge the gap between bloom times in the front garden. They bloom along with the early asters for a spectacular color combination. They are near the end of their bloom time when mums become available to buy and when my hardy mums begin blooming. I am looking forward to planting more in the future and may use your idea for huecheras and Japanese ferns for companions
