    • I have had my eye on this plant as I love dark colored heucheras. I finally found it at a local garden center finally, and it has done very well in my garden considering all of the different types of weather it had to deal with at first, (heat wave, drought then lots of rain, cool temperates, and also smoke from the Canada wildfires). It has a great upright habit plus I really like the flowers. Normally I cut the flowers off of heucheras as I think they make the plant look messy, but the flowers on this one really compliments it. Surprisingly the rabbits have left it alone (for now). I now want to add a couple more and add it's cousin, Dressed Up Ball Gown as I think they will look terrific together.

    • This may SAY it’s deer resistant, but it absolutely is not. I have three other heucheras in the same exact garden bed and literally the night I planted this exact heuchera it was completely devoured by a deer. Why are the others that are directly next to it completely untouched, yet this one was eaten down to the stem? Not a single leaf was left behind. I’m extremely disappointed and definitely do not think this particular heuchera should be listed as deer resistant. Heucheras ‘Apple Twist’ and ‘Peachberry Ice’ remain completely untouched and beautiful. The other huechera is not a proven winner so I won’t mention it. Just so incredibly disappointing seeing as ‘Evening Gown’ looked so beautiful for about…. 8 hours.

    • Absolutely gorgeous, the sheen on the leaves glimmers, they catch your eye despite their dark colour, changing in their appearance throughout the day depending on sun position. I place it in my cottage-style perennial beds, and it instantly gives a "lift" to all the shades of green surrounding it.
