I grew these in the summer of 2023. I bought early when they came out in stores and they lasted until late late in the season. We are zone 8, coastal BC. I don't understand the reviews saying that the colours were "blah" as this was my one my fave flowers for my balcony /patio planters.. I absolutely love the colour combination and hope that I will find them again this year. They looked just like te photos in my planters and I planted alongside white alyssum and was really pretty as the white co-planting made the persimmon colours pop and stand out. They mounded very nicely with some drape over the planters. I use a slow release fertilizer in my pots which really has worked well. I was able to cut this back a bit too at the end of the season and had good regrowth and bloom for the fall.

Maintenance Notes:These are heat tolerant plants, that aren't particularly fussy and need little routine maintenance. They will perform best if an application of controlled release fertilizer is included at the time of planting. This applies to both landscape and container plantings. Supertunias are heavy feeders, but a single dose is usually sufficient for landscape beds in most climates. If you have a very long season, a second application of controlled release plant food should be considered for landscape plantings. In general, containers need to be fed more than landscape plants. Supertunias in containers will need to be fed more regularly to be their absolute best. A second application of a controlled release fertilizer can be applied about every two months to container plants, which will help. However, for the very best performance I find regularly applying water soluble fertilizer starting about two months after the containers are planted gives the best results. These extra applications of plant food really makes a difference in performance through the summer.
If your plant begins to look open or a bit tired, an allover trim can be beneficial. Use a sharp pair of scissors or pruning shears to trim back up to 1/3 of the volume of the plant. I pair any trim with a dose of water soluble fertilizer to provide instant energy to help kickstart new growth, branching and flowering. Your plant will take a week to recover from the trim, but the end result is a fuller plant with more blooms going forward. I absolutely love this new supertunia. It is a show stopper in my hanging baskets and has proven to be a very strong bloomer. The compliments that I have received exceed any other mentions in my flower garden. I will double my use next season for sure!

I wanted to love this flower so much. When I first planted it, I fell in love. The coloring was beautiful. But as it grew, the color faded quickly, and I was constantly deadheading it because if I didn't, it looked horrible. Also the back of the flower is not the same color you see in the front. It is very pale and actually looks like the flower is old. If Proven Winners could fix these issues, this would be one amazing Supertunia. I wish I could upload photos so you can visually see what I am talking about. On a good note... it is a very vigorous grower for me.

I absolutely love the color of this plant. I would give it a 5 but my only complaint is that i feel like I have to dead head a lot or it looks messy unlike some of the other supertunias

Very Pretty Accent Color Plant - I bought a Supertunia mixed container from my local garden center. The Persimmon might not be the brightest colored Supertunia on its own, but it adds a really nice pop of color in a mixed container. The mix I bought used Persimmon, Honey, and Vista Fuchsia Supertunias together and I think it's a fantastic mix of color. The Persimmon ties the other two colors together. I also found that using a bloom boosting fertilizer regularly helps all of the colors be more vibrant.

I have to agree w/one of the reviews in that the color of the plant is a muddy pale orange.. It is not like th e photo of what it should look like.. The plant seemed vigorous and well rooted. but the color was for sure not what i envisioned when i planned out my large pot in the color combinations that i wanted to achieve.. There was not another place for me to put this plant in my container garden as it fit into no other color plan that i am growing this season.....Very disappointed.

I love Supertunia Persimmon!! I'm in North Texas and I planted it in a tiered container about 5-6 weeks ago, and it's taking off!! I love the vibrant color! I think it's interesting how all of the blooms face the same direction, but fortunately for me they all face my street and sidewalk so we can all enjoy them!! Great plant, I'd love to get more.

I was so excited about this new supertunia based on its photos. However in-person this is the most under-whelming proven winners plant I’ve grown. The color is very dull and the back of the petals are very pale and unattractive. The plants are growing decently well, but color is nothing like the photos. A big waste of $$$ which is sad because I’ve loved every proven winner I’ve tried until this plant.
