A sweet delight for spring gardens! This dwarf lilac is wider than it is tall, and produces copious dark pink buds which open to soft, lilac-pink flowers. It is very fragrant. Scent and Sensibility came out of the same breeding program as Bloomerang lilac but although it does have repeat flowers through the summer, it does not rebloom strongly enough to be part of the Bloomerang lilac family. But we loved the habit and flowering so much that we had to introduce it. We think it will be a delightful little plant for smaller landscapes, providing lots of color and fragrance in a compact package.

    • I did everything wrong with my little shrub and it hung on for two years. I decided to repot and found I had left it in very wet dense soil. I mixed up much fluffier batch and started over. It was now growing some. Over the fall and winter it has grown more branches and is poised for its first spring bloom. I think I know why they are called Proven Winners. Hard to kill is not a pleasant brand name. I’m looking forward to more good things with this one.

    • I am extremely pleased with this shrub. The second flush is fully out now. Low maintenance and high aroma!

    • It's a nice compact lilac. Had lovely fragrance in spring. But it has not rebloomed since spring and it has not lived upto is claim. I planted it in early Apr. I have it sitting in full sun and it gets plenty of water. It's by my supertunias and gets plenty of feed as well. It's now Jul. I'm in zone 5b.
