    Features

If you’re new to growing calla lilies, this is the place to start. Be My Destiny calla is one of the best varieties for pot production our growers have ever trialed. A strong yield, excellent vigor, uniformity of the crop and good disease resistance are all reasons our growers love this calla. Grape purple flowers with a deeper purple throat are produced in good numbers atop the slightly maculated, emerald green foliage which fills the pot fully.

Be My calla lilies are hand-selected advanced genetics with larger, bolder blooms that appear for 9-12 weeks from early summer to late summer. Our large bulbs have a higher eye count than typical, resulting in more robust plants. Be My callas are ideal for gifts. The flowers last up to two weeks once cut.

The Be My® series will bloom for 6 to 8 weeks in your garden or as a potted plant indoors. The spathe (what we call the flower) can persist for up to 12 weeks and mature into richer colors as it ages. If grown in pots, keeping the plant pot bound will encourage more blooms. Calla Lilies make long lasting cut flowers as well.

    Uses Notes:

Use in Containers and Landscapes or indoors as a potted plant. These types of plants are often purchased as gifts for others or as for personal use. The plants will last for months with good color and the flowers will be colorful for weeks as well, either while still on the plant or when used as cut flowers.

    Maintenance Notes:

Although Calla lilies may look delicate and are always elegant, they are relatively durable and easy to grow. When first planted the soil should remain moist, once they are established they are happy with moist, but will also tolerate quite a bit of water.

A dose of controlled or slow-release fertilizer can be helpful.

While summer blooming is expected with spring planting, if they are planted later in the season, they will bloom later. Planted late enough they will bloom in Fall.

The part of the plant we call a flowers is actually called a spathe. The Spathe can persist on the plant for long periods looking really beautiful. However, if they do become unsightly you can remove them by snapping the stem.
