More tolerant of neutral-slightly alkaline conditions than other clethra, but an acidic growing media is still preferred.
Naturally forms a tight, compact mound, so minimal trimming or is required to produce an appealing plant.
Watch for aphids, especially in spring.
For 3 gallon plants, use a 1 gallon shift rather than potting liners directly to the can. Allow 10-12 weeks in addition to the amount of time required to produce the 1 gallon.
