Beautiful care-free plant. Loaded with flowers for two to three weeks in the spring. Healthy blue-green foliage until the fall. Dense and sturdy habit. The dimensions given are way too small. This plant easily grows to 3.5 ft high and 6 ft wide by the summer's end. You can prune it back a bit, but I would give it no less than 5 ft all around. The plant dies back to the ground in the fall and emerges slowly in the spring. Otherwise it can be the focal point of a whole garden bed.

This easy care, drought tolerant, deer resistant perennial is an excellent choice for gardeners looking for low maintenance or native perennials.
Deep indigo blue flowers much more vibrant than B. australis and a perfect plant habit are the key features of this new variety. An excellent floral display occurs in late spring to early summer, followed by decorative seed pods in fall. The deep blue-green foliage forms a more compact, upright mound to 3ft tall at maturity.
