    Features

Reach a higher plane in your landscape or garden.

Mockorange is a delightfully old-fashioned plant that has unfortunately fallen out of favor, mostly due to its enormous size. Illuminati Tower® mockorange stands to breathe new life into this classic favorite, though, combining a landscape-friendly size with a totally unique space-saving habit. It naturally grows in a very narrow, upright way, each sturdy stem a stack of rugged, deep green leaves that looks like a four-sided tower. In late spring/early summer, hundreds of fragrant white flowers emerge from between the leaves for striking show that truly celebrates the season.

Top reasons to grow Illuminati Tower mockorange:

    - never-before-seen space-saving habit takes up a fraction of the room of older varieties

    - very fragrant white flowers in late spring/early summer have a sweet fragrance that carries on the warm breezes

    - Deer resistant and drought tolerant

    Maintenance Notes:

Illuminati Tower mockorange will need little pruning - it blooms on old wood, so any pruning you do wish to do should be done after flowering.

    Fun Facts:

The scientific name for mockorange, Philadelphus, translates to "brotherly love." The common name, mockorange, derives from the fragrance of the flowers, which does indeed resemble orange blossoms - even though this plant can grow in far colder climates than actual citrus.

    • I've got two of these sort of a raise bed planter along a drive way. This will be the third season and I'm still waiting for blooms. Got lots of foliage the second season and they are about 20 inches tall. Zone 6.

    • I love this plant. This is the third growing season for mine. It is 3.5 feet tall, very narrow, and blooming profusely. However, it does not resist deer. They ate nearly the whole plant the first season. We caged it but took the cage off for a brief period the second year and they ate it again. So, the cage will stay permanently ☹️ but it is beautiful and covered in blooms. Zone 6a.

    • Planted 5 in April. Three of them grew taller but none of them have flowered yet. The bottom leaves are starting to fall off. Very Disappointed!
