    Maintenance Notes:

Prefers well-drained soils but fairly adaptable to other soil types.  If necessary, prune immediately after the spring bloom.  Best flowering occurs in full sun, but light shade isn't harmful, particularly in warmer climates.

If desired, fertilize in early spring with a granular fertilizer formulated for woody plants, like a rose fertilizer.

The lipstick red flowers are remarkable enough to make this a choice selection, but a burst of flowers in May followed by waves of rebloom until frost make it a must-have shrub.  Deadheading is not needed to keep the plant blooming.

    • Purchased 2 springs ago, to replace all of my Knock Out Roses (They succumbed to Witches Broom). I wanted something that would give that burst of color from spring to first frost. The first year they got settled in. They love sun, and don't need watering after that first year - no matter the heat. I didn't prune cause I wanted as much old wood as possible and put out granular 3 month fertilizer and mulched them in. The name "Sonic Bloom" is exactly what you get, this year they decided to show off! I wish I could upload the picture! I planted 4 at the front of the house - they are huge! It is late April, and they are already blooming even though we had a late hard frost when they had buds! Everyone who comes by says...."What is that?!" These thrillers are truly awesome super duper troopers!

    • I purchased 3 of these shrubs not realizing how beautiful they were going to be. I have recently moved them from a North East location to a Southern location to give the plant its more prefered location. I'm excited to see what these beauties are going to bring now that they can thrive in a better location.

    • Gorgeous, incredible red colour! The plant didn't survive the first winter, but thanks to the excellent customer service they replaced it. The replacement plant survived the bitter mid-west winter and is putting on quite a show! I'd attach a picture if it allows me.

    • Planted three of these mid spring and have been truly amazed at their growth, vigor and outstanding reblooming. They are still going and my hummingbirds absolutely love them! Just can't beat Proven Winners Bloomerang red!
