Grower Tips:

This fast-growing shrub is in-demand by the landscape market. It can be produced and sold in the same season in most areas. It’s also a good addition to native plant and fall color programs.

Frequent trimming will produce a dense, compact container plant that has a longer shelf life at retail.

Flowers appear through summer but are not the main selling point – colorful foliage is. Allow 6-8 weeks after a trim for a flush of colorful new growth.

Spider mites may occasionally be a problem; avoid water and heat stress.

Foliage color is most pronounced in full sun; move outdoors for a few weeks before shipping for best presentation.

Potting a 2 ¼” liner directly to a 3 gallon can is not recommended.

Vernalization:
Cold Required
