    Features

Campfire® Marshmallow Bidens  is vigorous, heat tolerant and can tolerate some drought stress. The large, pure white flowers  surround a golden yellow center. The flowers are larger than Campfire Flame and will be a great summer performer. Strong heat tolerance and pure white, self-cleaning flowers are the highlights of this all-season bloomer. Large blossoms on densely mounded plants are highly attractive to pollinators.

This new pure white bidens adds a cool touch to full sun landscapes and containers from spring to fall. A showy tuft of gold in the center of each blossom draws in pollinating bees and the petals shed cleanly once spent, leaving the plant with a tidy appearance. Low seed set translates to greater flower power and less persistence in the garden. The densely mounded habit of Campfire® Marshmallow bidens makes it less of a mixer in containers and more of a showpiece on its own. It is most eye-catching when planted en masse in well-drained soil. It occupies a similar niche as Coreopsis in landscape designs but is much longer blooming with no deadheading required.

    Uses Notes:

Great for hanging baskets, patio planters and wonderful as a component in combination planters. Will perform well when planted in the landscape as well.

    Maintenance Notes:

Self-cleaning, no dead-heading necessary.  This plant can be trimmed back at anytime if you feel it is outgrowing its space. This is a low-key easy to grow plant. It will perform best with moist soil, but can handle some drought stress. They don't need to be fed much. Usually a dose of  controlled or slow release plant food is sufficient for several months when planted in the landscape. If grown in containers they will do best with more regular feeding. Consult your plant food package for more detailed information.

    • Got this at Lindsey’s nursery in New Smyrna Beach in FL. This plant grows wild in Florida so to see a compact version with many more flowers and overall neater appearance is amazing. I know this plant will be a beautiful, great value perennial to add some winter interest to my garden.

    • This is one of the best-performing annuals I have ever planted. It was dense and bloomed profusely & continuously until frost arrived. Unfortunately, I can't locate a retailer that carries it this year. Called 6-7 nurseries in my area that carry proven winners. Only one had this Biden, but it was the flame (red) color.
