I needed a plant for 3 12x24 " pots along a small deck to keep people from falling the 2 1/2 feet to the terrace below. There is only morning sun there, and I was getting tired of replanting annuals each year. So, I chose the Dolce Creme Brulee Heuchera which is a perennial and found one filled each pot and is a 4 season plant. The leaf colors are wonderful and add a bright touch. A trim back in the Spring is all it needs.
- Sun or Shade
The optimum amount of sun or shade each plant needs to thrive: Full Sun (6+ hours), Part Sun (4-6 hours), Full Shade (up to 4 hours).
This plant is hardy in zones 4 - 9
Zones are based on the lowest average temperature an area is expected to receive during the winter. They are used to determine whether a plant is likely to be perennial in your area. If your zone is equal to or higher than the zone listed for the plant, it will be hardy for you and thrive in your climate.

They begin blooming in early spring. Deadheading won't keep them blooming longer. However, removing the flower stems once the plant has finished blooming will keep them looking tidier. Plants can be divided in spring or fall for personal use.
An application of fertilizer or compost on garden beds and regular fertilization of plants in pots will help ensure the best possible performance.

I have only one plant and will divide it this year since it is now 4 years old. It has remained attractive all winter in zone 7. I read where the leaves can be eaten as salad but have not verified the information. Recommend highly.Shirley Carlen, 7 years ago

Adds nice color to the garden early and continues long after other perennials have quit blooming.Barbara Burkey, Michigan, United States, 8 years ago
I keep these in a pot by themselves, so I can move them around near other pots that need a bit of color punch. I do notice that they fade out a bit in the full heat of august and do a little better with a bit of afternoon shade.PJ, Pennsylvania, United States, 8 years ago
The first one to really grow in shade and sun. Does need some watering. Easy to care forDP, Michigan, United States, 8 years ago
